About Hastelloy B-2: Hastelloy B-2 (UNS N10665) is a solid solution strengthened, nickel-molybdenum alloy, with significant resistance to reducing environments like hydrogen chloride gas, and sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids. Hastelloy B2 provides resistance to pure sulfuric acid and a number of non-oxidizing acids. Hastelloy B-2 is not recommended when ferric or cupric salts are present as this salts may cause rapid corrosion failure.
